  1. You may be unable to find the entry you are looking for with a 
  2. straight-forward query.  This may be because the entry is named differently 
  3. to what you imagined, or may be an indication that the entry is not in the 
  4. directory.  Make a guess initially, and if there is no entry with the name you
  5. have entered, the program will allow you to list the entries in the
  6. Directory, and adjust the name you have entered.

  8. The following example gives an example of how to do this.

  10.     person>       kille
  11.     department>   networking
  12.     organisation> ucl
  13.     country>      gb
  14.  
  15. The Directory Service returns with the message: "No departments match
  16. `networking'" and prompts for a DEPARTMENT name to be entered.
  17.  
  18. To discover the names of departments for which there is information,
  19. entering "*" will list all the DEPARTMENTs within UCL in Great Britain thus:

  21.       1 A.U.T. Office
  22.       2 American Institute for Foreign Study
  23.       . ...
  24.      27 Computer Science
  25.      .. ...
  26.     
  27. The user can now select one from the list by entering the number thus:
  28.     department> 27
  29. and the query should proceed further.
